Cutting claws?
Should all dogs have their claws trimmed or does walking them keep them short?

Regular walking on hard surfaces such as concrete does typically keep a dogs nails from getting too long. You may want to check them still periodically to make sure they do not need a little more trimming.

Yes all dogs should have their nails trimmed. When you leave a dogs nails too long, they can break off at the quick, and cause pain.

But can they wear them down by walking them?

Yes dogs walking on concrete and any other really hard surfaces will dull down their nails, but it is better for the dogs to have them trimmed instead of relying on walking to dull the nails.

Their nails will wear down from walking, but its also important to keep them nicely trimmed as long nails can cause them discomfort when walking. If you are uncomfortable doing this yourself have the vet or groomer do it for you the next time you go in.
