I don't think it's a good idea to get a dog at this point of time. You should wait a little longer maybe 2 or three years from now when your child can take care of your pet.

Well you will get 500 different answers, but in my opinion a puppy would be a great choice, only cause you can raise the puppy with your infant. Which Breed is best for kids there are a few: Golden Retrievers, Akita Inus, American Eskimos, and Australian Shepards are a few good choices.

It doesnt matter what dog you get you have to be aware all the time any dog can bite if annoyed and kids need to learn about dogs and their boundries.
