THE world’s rarest cup of coffee went on sale today, but we doubt if it will replace your regular Starbucks cappuccino.

Because unlike most coffees on sale in your local cafe, this cup of coffee is made from cat poo.

Touted as the world’s most expensive cuppa, this odd brew is priced at a stonking £50 a cup.

The coffee - believed to an "indulgent experience" - is made from a blend of two extremely rare coffee beans, the Indonesian Kupi Luwak and Jamaican BlueMountain.

The Kupi Luwak bean is eaten by a Palm cat and when it pops out the other end workers use the poo to make the coffee.

The result is said to be an "earthy taste."

Interestingly, the name of the 'palm civet cat' comes from the fact that both sexes have scent glands underneath the tail that resemble testicles.

The excrement-special cat-poo brew goes on sale today at Peter Jones in Sloane Square, central London with proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support.
