First Aid for a cat or kitten
Witch Hazel is very good when it comes to washing minor wounds. If you want to try something else you can use 2 teaspoons of dried rosemary or either blackberry leaves to a cup of boiling water. It has to boil in the water for several hours before you can use it. Please note that I don't know for sure if this works as I was just researching some cat tips so if you have tried it before in the past I'd love to hear your results. What other kind of first aid tips can you give for a cat or kitten? When it's serious or you're unsure it is still best to take them to the vet for care immediately.

We have used Tea tree oil quite successfully. There are pre-soaked serviettes commercially available; alternatively one drop of neat tea tree oil diluted 1:10 in water will do miracles when it comes to disinfecting and promoting healing of minor cuts and wounds. Careful to dilute as cat skin is quite sensitive and the neat oil will cause burns!

First aid is an interim measure before veterinary care becomes available. The objective of first aid is to prevent the condition from worsening, alleviate pain and suffering, and help the recovery process. Getting veterinary help remains the highest priority.

For more serious injuries as a small wound, the man first aid and common sense are the best ways to help. Pressing the lesion from the circulation of blood and blood loss. Keep the wound above the heart reduces blood loss, then get right to the vet, do not waste time trying to clean the wound.

Leadership is the key ingredient to make a change.
