Well a lot of times I think a name just comes to mind when you look at the dog. Sometimes a name pops up quickly.

My pet dog right now was given to me by a special someone, and I have somewhat gotten her name from partly from his name.

My parents and my younger sister comes up with the name. Well, anything will work for me, just as long as it is different from mine.

For my dog, I asked a young boy who lived down the street. He was happy to give me a suggestion. I liked it, and so I used it.

I tried to name the dog i have, but everyone in my family just calls him whatever they want so it confuses the dog. I just now have everyone calling the dog Sammy so aleast the dog has a name.

Mixing names up does the job for me, I also ask friends to give me some suggestions.

I would definently say by the color and size of the dog. Also, usually there are certain things that the dog does whenever you say a certain thing, such as..

If you say milk and he/she jumps around, you could name he/her that.

Well two of my dogs were already named when they were rescued, so we kept those names. For my newest dog however I waited a few days till a name popped into my head, then I named her crystal.

As all of our dogs here are "second hand" they all had there names before comming to us.

Our own dog also had her name before she came to us, she is called Justine after tennisplayer Justine Henin, but we call her stine, it's easier and still like her original name.
