My 1 year old Siamese went missing last Tuesday night, 10 days ago and my boyfriend and I are beside ourselves with worry...

He went out overnight the first time we let him out and my boyfriend found him a few streets away the next morning, tired & with a bloody ear. After that, he went out again a month later overnight but was back in the garden by 8am the next day so we knew he could find his way home. After that, he stayed in the garden or the area directly behind (car park/street - we live in a new development with tightly-packed houses) but always came back after no more than 3/4 hours at the most.

I have done everything I can think of - I've put up posters, put flyers through everyone's doors, walked around the development and the surrounding woods and fields up to two or three times a day, calling him and shaking his treats. I've left out food and items of clothing overnight, called the chip people to report him missing, called rescue centres, vets and even pet psychics! I have today called the council to see if they had picked up a dead Siamese recently and am awaiting a call-back (I had to wait this long to summon up the courage to do it).

He's super-friendly and inquisitive and loves strangers and even dogs - he tried to make friends with a neighbour's giant husky once. He doesn't seem afraid of anything. No one in the area has seen him. We live in a new development and I have spoken to children, adults, dog-walkers and builders to no avail. I asked the builders to check houses and garages, pipes and anything they have been working in or on but they generally tend to leave windows and doors open and block the houses off with fences. Plus they are there in and out every day to work and say they haven't seen him.

I have been out to call him first thing in the morning (between 2am and 5am), during the day and in the evening but have heard no noise (he's VERY loud) or seen him at anyone's window. As we are surrounded by woods, fields and hills I am concerned he might be chasing rabbits/mice/voles and got lost.

He was wearing a collar with our details on and is neutered and microchipped. But nothing. He seems to have just disappeared off the face of the earth...

I'm sorry to hear about you're cat. Last year one of mine went missing for 6 days and we did almost exactly the same as you (we didn't go to a pet psychic but we were getting there) and then one day he just turned up. A little thinner and none the wiser for his ordeal but perfectly fine. You're cat may be shut in an outbuilding of a neighbour and because the weather has been so awful (or at least it has where I live) no one has been in there. Because we're now into the Bank Holiday weekend when wives nag at husbands to get jobs done then hopefully he'll be let out and come home to you all hungry and wondering what the fuss is all about.
