RE: Mom's who don't allow pets
My mom only allowed me to have a pet when I was about 13, she said that I should be the one who should give them a bath and I told her I won't need to because I wanted a fish. hehe.. Big Grin

I think its because of the hassle they create and the mess pets leave behind. Thats why moms dont really want pets around, but fathers are okay with it.

Nope, both my parents are animal lovers and they had dogs when I was born. I have always had pets around me my entire life, its kind of cool. I love having pets, even when they are a burden.

I mom never let me have anything that can't fit in a cage or tank because of space and mess issues.

My mom was hesitant at first, but when I assured here I would take care of it she let me. Now she says she wouldn't mind getting another pet.

Nope, both my parents love animals and we had a pet dog ever since I can remember. I've always remembered how my dad always walking them and feeding them. And how he would carry me to play with them.

My mum loved cats and missed the ones that we had that were killed so badly. She really wanted more, but my father wouldn't allow it. Finally my nan found this stray, straggly thing that kept visiting her and convinced my mum to take it in. We buttered my father up by throwing him his birthday party three days early, and he said yes Big Grin

My parents had dogs since before I was born, but my dad doesn't like cats and my mom was allergic to them. When I was younger my mom got us a cat and realized she wasn't allergic to it. She thinks it was maybe just a certain kind of cat she was allergic to.

Yes, different cats shed different amounts, and lose different amounts of dander. Its the dander that most folks are allergic to. There are actually cats bred in the UK that are bred to be hypo-allergenic, or as close to it as possible, so that allergic cat lovers can (pay through the nose to) have a cat to cuddle again.
