Our missing cat!
Hi all,
I am new to this board but found it, while searching and advertising on the net for our cat Ariel who has gone missing.
She went missing on Tuesday, which is totally out of charecter for her. We have so far been out with leaflets, to the vets, placed cards in pet shops and have put an ad in our local paper.
The main problem is how upset we all are, the children last night were just sobbing as we have already lost her Ariel's sister who died some time ago. I think they are just thinking the same thing will happen again.
Please any advice or positve thoughts would be gratefully appreciated, I am trying to remain positive but it is a very testing time as we are all so worried.
Thanks everyone.

RE: Our missing cat!
Hi there sugarplumfairy (and everyone else missing their loved pet),
I too had my cat, Poppy, go missing and I did the same as you - leaflets, phoned all the local vets, posters in my car, etc.
Poppy's disappearance was totally out of character for her too, she preferred to stay very close to home, and I really didn't know what to do for the best. But then suddenly this morning, she walked in and sat by her food bowl as if she had never been away!! She's a little thinner and her fur is dull and smells rather , but I don't care...she's home.
All I can say is that you must never give up hoping and looking everywhere. Spread the word as far and wide as possible, putting posters in your car and asking friends and neighbours to do this is a fantastic way of spreading the word over a greater distance. Involve your children by getting them to ask their schools, and any activity clubs they belong to, if they will put up/distribute posters of your missing cat. This may help them to feel a little more positive and not quite so helpless about the situation.
I received some fantastic advice from this site as a result of putting Poppy on the 'missing' list. I would never have thought of putting an item of my clothing out for her to smell on her travels and I like to think that this may have had something to do with her being able to find her way back home.
I hope that the news will be good for you too.
Take care and good luck to you

Yep, dont give up.
This site is excellent, I'm also encouraging my vets to use this site too to check the lost and found.
