RE: Puppy farming

A couple of years ago my friend bought a puppy from one of these guys. As soon as she told me she was getting this puppy and the circumstances in which she was picking it up imediately made alarm bells ring in my head. I warned her but she carried on with it nontheless. This guy was bringing the puppy up from the North East and leaving it with a friend telling my friend not to worry about a patch on his skin as he had an alergy to the flea spray!!! Anyway I went with my friend to pick this puppy up and was horrified to see the state of the poor little mite. This patch turned out to be mostly covering his body and was in actual fact Mange, and he was so dehydratedMad Anyway, my friend was so upset at the sight she took him home and it the end it cost hundreds of pounds to put him rightMad:mad: although it cost so much money to make him well she doesn't regret any of it, she feels like she saved his life.
All we had on this guy was a mobile phone number a name, what his business was (a horse breeder) and a rough idea of where he came from. My daughter then got on the computer and did a bit of detective work and eventually traced him. I've tried to cut this very long story into as short of a post as I can, but anyway the upshot is this guy was reported to the authorities, and successfully prosecutedBig Grin The RSPCA man who she had been in constant touch with over this then rang my friend and told her they had found loads of different breeds being used for breeding. This is a classic case of what not to do when buying a puppy but at least on this occassion it actually had a happy ending.
