RE: how many cats are too many?

Two are enough for me. They take a reasonable amount of caring for, and cost too, so between them and a toddler I can't take anymore.

Unless you live in a stately home I think 12 is horrible. The place would smell no matter how much you clean.

I have two cats. A friend of mine has around 6 or so, which I think I could live with.

It depends on if they're indoor or outdoor cats as well. An ideal number for me would be 2-4.

I would say more than 3 cats would be too many.

I can see for sure that them being outdoors animals would make things easier. But still-I always like my cats to be inside at night-time and that's a lot of cats to have to house.

Had 3 together, but now only 2. It's a personal decision, although maybe in double figures in a suburban semi might just be pushing the numbers. But if you can house and feed them properly and pay the vet bills, then it is up to you alone.

RE: how many cats are too many?

hmmm, good question, myself, I love cats. So it would be hard for me to say what number would be considered too many. I have had 4 cats and 4 dogs at the same time. As long as they are all fed, watered, potty trained and loved daily it shouldn't matter!
