Hi there, I am hoping that someone can help with this.

My cat Geoffrey went missing from my friends garden on Tuesday (24th Aug) I had taken him in his carrier to her house (less than half mile away) as we were taking him to the vets together.
I put him on his harness and took him out into the garden to save him being stuck in the carrier for too long and to let him have a wee etc, but he panicked and managed to escape his harness before I had a chance to grab him and dashed out of the garden towards the railway line.
He was seen later that evening further up the road towards where we live but was moving too quickly for anyone to do anything. If he carried on following the railway line he would be able to get very near home without having to cross the main road.

My question is, do I just keep calling him from around my area or do I keep calling him from where he went missing???
At the moment I have been calling from the top of my friends road and then in intervals while following the railway line as much as I can in the hope of him following my voice but I dont know if that is the right thing to do.
Please help, my disabled son and I are missing him very much and he is quite distressed

* Birds are highly sensitive to inhalant fumes, so please avoid exposing yours to fumes from self-cleaning ovens and overheated cookware, automobile exhaust, tobacco smoke, glues and paints, insecticidal fumigants, perfume and hair spray.

* Keep all prescription and over-the-counter drugs out of beak's reach, preferably in closed cabinets. Pain killers, cold medicines, anticancer drugs, vitamins and diet pills are all examples of human medications that can be lethal to birds, even in small amounts.
They both have beautiful natures and are very sweet. Brian is a little slow on the uptake, but apparently that endears him even more to people. They are fully vaccinated and litter trained and are indoor/outdoor cats. The reason for rehoming is that their owner died - they were two of four cats and her son can only cope with keeping the Mother and one of the siblings. I believe they have to be rehomed together. The only other solution for me is to try and get them into a sanctuary, however that is not really ideal and in addition most at present are overwhelmed. The cats are living in Waltham Abbey, but obviously can be rehomed to any area. Please let me know if you of know of anyone who may be interested - really need your help to think of other people. Can you therefore please forward this email to all of your contacts as appropriate if you feel there may be a genuine interest. Tel: 077601 28595

I'm totally booked up for the forseeable future and thanks to your very popular website I keep getting lots of enquiries. Good news for you, but a bit difficult for me to keep up with at the moment! Thank you for the clients your website has put my way over the past year.

The owner of a starved dog that was found dumped on a doorstep in Stoke-on-Trent has been urged to come forward.

The elderly English Bull Terrier was found in Barks Drive, Norton. RSPCA inspectors said she was "severely underweight" and covered in sores.

The dog, which has been called Kymbo, was given treatment by a vet and is being looked after by the RSPCA.

Officers said the dog, which was found on 20 December, had not been wearing a collar and was not micro-chipped.

Inspector Julie Lyons said she thought Kymbo would make a good recovery

She added: "The dog has really come along leaps and bounds since we rescued her, she has found her voice and her feet and is gaining weight which is really important for her."

Under the Animal Welfare Act, anyone found guilty of neglect can face a £5,000 fine or up to a six-month jail sentence.

We have just had this message sent to us ...

Quote:Yesterday while on my driving lesson a black dog with some white marking (it looked like a collie cross type, about 25kg) had been knocked over and left in the middle of the road. It was on the Huntingdon road, Cambridge just before you joined the A14 towards Huntingdon. I thought it was a car bumper but as I got closer I seen it was a dog, it was'nt moving. There was no where to stop as it was two lanes of traffic and no hard shoulder. My driving instructer phoned the police, and when I returned home I telephoned the RSPCA and WoodGreen animal shelters. WoodGreen said they would contact the local council. The RSPCA said they had no dogs matching this one had been reported as missing. It must have an owner out there somewhere.

Just to say my Bengal cat is back with me after being missing for 7 years. My husband and I bought 2 bengals in 1999, my husband sadly was diagnosed with cancer and passed away 2000. I moved house in 2001 and my male(micro chipped) bengal went missing/stolen a few weeks later. I placed ads in Yorkshire Post, Derbyshire Times, Sheffield Star. Posters all over. Then a year later my female was killed on the road just to compound my anguish. Time moves on and I got 3 more cats so imagine my surprise when I had a phone call from the RSPCA south of Nottingham at the end of Oct, (I am Derbyshire /Sheffield border) to say they had my cat!
If whoever took him had made the effort to take him to be scanned he would have been back with me earlier. Unless of course they just kept him because they liked him. I cannot thank the farmer who took him there enough, he has made my year with his thoughfulness.

So please consider having your cat microchipped, although it is only as good as the honesty of the person finding your cat. I think vets should ask people to prove ownership when they come in with a new animal.

I installed a freedom fence in my garden after I lost a second cat on the country road and it is the BEST thing I have done for my now 4 cats. They can go outside but cannot get off the property, they are not in other people's gardens, I am not worried when they don't come back for hours and I am not worried that some cat haters are tormenting them or that they have been run over.

So to all of you who have lost your beloved animals, take heart, there are some caring people out there. xx
