After leaving my friend's in Orford Sunday 8th around 12.30pm I saw a large emu type bird in a field just past the houses in Ferry Road. I messaged her and she informed me it's a Rhea.
My stepdad then saw it in the field just after the cross roads before you get into Orford around 7am this morning. I passed the same field onto work this morning around 8.15am and it was stood in the middle of the road just after the brow of the hill. I was lucky not to hit it. It ran off into the field.
I'm unsure where it's come from, my friend heard that 2 escaped from Iken but they'd been caught. I'm worried it will cause an accident and it may be in distress. I have been in touch with RSPB who suggested I post on here.
